序文
Introduction
Over a period of30years in Japan，I have provided editorial assistance to colleagues writing research papers in English. Although I currently get fewer requests for help，the number of authors requiring assistance with issues connected with the submission process and communication with editors and reviewers has increased.This book is intended to help authors with problems that arise after the manuscript has been completed，and deals with cover letters for initial submissions and revised manuscripts，research highlights，and replies to reviewers' comments.It introduces common errors and has a section on frequently used words.Examples are applicable to different fields and are not specific to a particular genre.
